Nutrition

As part of the New Village philosophy all students must be well-rested and well-fed in order to perform at their optimum. Students are fed a small breakfast and two snacks.  Students bring their own lunch to school.

In addition to being well-fed, it is essential that students consume healthy meals, which we believe optimizes their overall performance. Meals should be prepared with the following nutritional guidelines.

  • Few to no fried foods
  • High quality / organic fruits and vegetables
  • High quality snacks e.g. peanut butter and apples
  • Low-carb, low-sugar and low-sodium
  • High protein intake, using fresh meats.
  • Pasta should be kept to a minimum
  • Use Brown rice
  • No MSG

A monthly menu is distributed with the monthly calendar.
